  Hmm. good question.

  I'm not sure what my masculine side is? I've started weight training and I kind of always thought that was a guy thing. I'm really enjoying it for a girl.

  I guess that is it for me.

  I'm beating myself up today....

  we're getting ready for vacation so i'm doing that odd-ball stuff that needs to be done.

  i'm walking into the bedroom with my suitcase, catch it on the doorframe, and it puches me in the gut and knocks me to the floor.

  my gut and ribs are still sore 3 hours later!

  Killing One's Ego...

  many of the ancient mystics and their belief systems supported the idea that to truly live life, and draw close to god, each one of us has to remove his "ego".

  even jesus hinted at it.. i think today, "ego" is very often taken as meaning pride.

  this is but one facet of one's ego.

  .. I always thought having a new baby come into the house really got rid of any ego in myself. They sure can bring you to your knees sometimes out of sheer love and sometimes out of utter frustration. Every new baby into my house was very quickly made the new King and everyone else fell in line after that.

  perhaps you have to be one of those who grew up in the 60's to really appreciate this thread, but then my kids love 60's music too.

  who did you think were the best, the beatles or the rolling stones?

  is there a bit of a psychological angle here too?

  on my way to work in our city's downtown area i regularly see a pioneer walking up and down the street, holding up his magazines.

  Gosh, darn and dag-nabbit!.. all good wholesome words when talking with ones mother.

  I'm really glad that it wasn't an emotional roller coaster call.

  It sounds like your mom has finally fit into the right slot in your mind. Your mom..but not the controller of your emotion. It's interesting that you were amused with her call but still respectful too.
